Hello! The Greenhill Historical Society is still working on finding a home for the munitions wagon...so if you know of anywhere please let us know! We're really keen to turn this wagon into a community centre for events, workshops, exhibitions, etc. - it's a great project!! Any help you can provide would be fantastic.

Our next walk will be on Wednesday 15th July, meeting at Greenhill Community Resource Centre. There are a few places we haven't been to as a collective, one of which is along Reilly Road and down the Low Pad between the Bett and Persimmon houses. The other one is up Glenyards Road and beside the old Greenhill School headmaster's house (I think that's what it was!). So we're open for suggestions as to where you'd like to go so that we can continue walking for the next month or so.
Hope to see yo…

The next walk will take place on 8th July at 7pm, meeting at Greenhill Community Resource Centre. The theme will be the railways and we'll visit the giant (as was) railway system around Greenhill. We'll also have old maps and images to imagine it as it once was. After this walk you'll wonder how it's possible that we don't have a station now!!

Last year we held walks every Wednesday night for around eight weeks and we're going to be starting these again from Wednesday 17th June 2009 at 7pm, going to Rough Castle Roman Wall. It will be similar to our Walk + Photo series but this time called EnviroWalkers! So if you're interested, get your camera polished up! If you don't have a camera we can lend you one. We'll also be providing some historical information for the trip so you can imagine the community in previous times!
Bring your cam…

The brilliant and helpful person that is Andy Davies at Network Rail has managed to negotiate a good deal for us in terms of the munitions wagon at Upper Greenhill Junction. We can HAVE the wagon so long as we find somewhere for it to go! So if you know of anywhere please let the Historical Society know. We want to keep it as part of a historical artefact of the Greenhill railway past but it does have to be moved from its current spot and placed somewhere in the community.....
ALL SUGGESTIONS W…

A few residents and myself have been undertaking some very detailed research on the Greenhill, High Bonnybridge and Seabegs areas, stretching a bit across to Castlecary too! We're going to be running some events as well as creating some resources based on our activities and we will also be looking for people to submit their own stories and memories of the area. Keep an eye out for the postcards, old photography, a timeline leaflet, a walking route map and a variety of other materials coming out…

Hello, the Photography Society is going really well!! We meet at the centre on Saturday mornings at 10am, for around two hours. We've made trips to a lot of places in search of good photo opportunities; last week's trip was a journey down the Forth and Clyde Canal courtesy of a friend of one of our members. Our exhibition went well at the end of last year and we hope to do another one in the summer.
If you fancy coming along it is never too late and we can lend you a camera if you don't have on…

here. Print out the document and put it together yourself. For instructions on putting the book together go
here. The document will print out and look really funny, but follow the instructions for putting it together and you'll be surprised!!! If yo…
