How does the residents of Roman Road feel about the mess Persimmons Site Traffic have made of its surface over the winter. Particularly when there are obvious road signs prohibiting access

Hi Jim/Alan
It's a good idea to take digital photographs of what your concerns are and then post them here...that way we've got a record of the mess we're seeing! I'm going to take photographs today of the canal dumping problem and post them to www.flickr.com/photos/gilliancowell. I think if we start building up a library of the problems then we can get something done about it - what do you reckon?

Very annoyed. Complained but got no response and the original reason work traffic was not allowed was to protect the foundations of the older houses in Roman Road. The speed bumps make everything worse as work traffic, cars and lorries coming up the street just bang straight over them. You should try speaking to someone who lives right beside one - I have heard the whole house shakes and ornaments fall off shelves. Clearly no-one cares - only the new houses are important (note the new development was meant to have speed bumps - which we were told by the local councillor were being installed - but to date none have appeared). The Councillor also told us that the road would be reinstated to repair all the damage. So far all that has appeared is a couple of men filling in the holes with poor tarmac which is already coming out. I wonder if that is the extent of the "reinstatement" of the road!!!

Do we need to get a wee group together to put in a joint complaint? Do you reckon other folks on your street would mind signing a petition or something? Happy to help out. Sorry for my delay in replying, I was on holiday (forgot to put up a note saying this, eek!).

I don't know if getting a group together for this particular concern is not to late now as tartan 1314 says persimmons are going to say they have repaired the damage to Roman Road. We could get some kids from the local schools nursey to do a better repair job than has been done. As far as council is concerned a petition is taken as only one complaint, needs to be as many individual complaints as possible to be effective. However all of the above forms of complaint should be considered for the next issue we have with developers or the council.
